Biography
Jerry M. Wright, Jr. is a principal in the firm’s Richmond (Glen Allen) office and joined the firm in 2003. His practice is devoted to community association law, providing counsel and advice to the firm’s clients on matters such as covenant enforcement, contracts, transition from developer, fair housing, collections, and general real estate law. Having come to the firm from the Supreme Court of Virginia, where he served the Court as Senior Staff Attorney, Jerry also provides counsel from an appellate perspective to the firm’s litigation clients.
Jerry is actively involved with the Central Virginia, Southeastern Virginia and Southwestern Virginia and Washington Metropolitan Chapters of the Community Associations Institute (“CAI”). Jerry has taught and frequently teaches classes and on community association law and legislation, including seminars for the CAI National Conference, CAI’s Community Association Law Seminar, the Virginia Leadership Retreat, and all four CAI Chapters in the Commonwealth. Jerry serves as Chair of CAI’s Virginia Legislative Action Committee, a cooperative joint effort among the four CAI Chapters in Virginia, coordinating CAI’s legislative efforts with the Virginia General Assembly each year. Jerry also sits on the Virginia Housing Commission’s Common Interest Community Work Group, Housing and Environmental Standards Work Group, and Neighborhood Transitions and Residential Land Use Work Group.
